Lee Rider,
Varsity Head Coach

Coach Lee Rider is in his twelfth year of teaching and coaching.  He is in his fourth year at Harrison High School where he teaches PE, Health, Weight conditioning and coaches Football and Lacrosse.  Two of those years Harrison participated in a State Championship game in lacrosse.  Prior to arriving at Harrison, he taught at South Forsyth High School for eight years and coached football and basketball.  He received his Bachelor and Masters’ degrees from North Georgia College and State University. Coach Rider has a family including his wife Amanda and daughter Kennedy.  In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, going to the beach, staying active in the weight room and playing golf.

 

Jeff Meese,
Junior Varsity Head Coach

Coach Meese is entering his first year at Harrison High School after having spent the last 13 years at Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia. Coach Meese grew up in Northern California and began his coaching and teaching career at his high school alma mater, San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, California. A former collegiate quarterback and coach, he earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from California State University Hayward and an M.A. in Behavioral Science from California State University Dominguez Hills. Coach Meese teaches in the Social Studies Department teaching 12th grade Civics/Economics and coaches 9th grade boy's basketball. Coach Meese lives in Kennesaw with his wife Darleen, his daughter Naila, and his son Brady. In his free time, he enjoys traveling in the Caribbean, listening to music, and playing golf.

 
Mark Stopher,
Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator

 Coach Stopher is originally from Syracuse, New York where he began playing organized lacrosse as freshman at Jamesville-DeWitt High School. He played all four years earning All-County honors his junior and senior years and chosen Captain of the Varsity team his senior year. He was recruited by many top Division I and III schools to play Lacrosse, including Syracuse University, Cornell, University of Massachusetts, etc. He attended Syracuse University, and was awarded an athletic scholarship. Junior and senior year he was 1st close defenseman, guarding the top opposing attackman. He was awarded All-American Honors both years as well. The team won the NCAA Championship in 1989 and 1990.
Since graduation he has played and coached numerous lacrosse teams nationally, including the Richmond Lacrosse Club, Virginia Commonwealth University Lacrosse Club, Guinness Lacrosse Club, Atlanta lacrosse club, Harrison HS Lacrosse Club, and Kennesaw State University Lacrosse Club. He has coached youth lacrosse in the area including west Cobb Lacrosse Club: Boys U9 and Girls U11. He is currently on the Mayla Board as director of Boys Recreation Program after being asked this year. Coach Stopher has also served as an official and is a member of the Georgia Lacrosse Officials Association.
 
Alex Gavilla,
Assistant Varsity Coach, Offensive Coordinator

Coach Gavilla went to McEachern High School where he lettered in Varsity Lacrosse and selected on the High School Invitational Georgia All State Lacrosse Team. He has played on the Copperheads Elite Lacrosse Travel Team and Atlanta Elite Lacrosse Travel Team.
He attended Mars Hill College where he played DII Lacrosse. He was ranked Top 20 Face-Off Specialist in DII and Third Best Face-Off Specialist in the Deep South Conference. Mars Hill College Lacrosse was ranked #9 in the nation for the 2011 season.
Coach Gavilla has Coached U11 and U13 boys at West Cobb Lacrosse and has run lacrosse camps for the community. He currently attends Kennesaw State University where he plays for the KSU Club Lacrosse Team. He also plays on the Atlanta Inferno Men’s Lacrosse Team.
